How do i prevent bruised toe nails caused by ballet pointe shoes?

I have a small bruise on my toe after wearing my ballet pointe shoes one time today. Any advice on how to prevent bruised toe nails? How do i prevent bruised toe nails caused by ballet pointe shoes?
Definatly use toe pads. I prefer using ouch pouch because they offer enough comfort and protection but you can still feel the floor. It could also be caused by your toe nails being too long. Make sure they are cut short. If thats not it then try soaking them after your class. Hope this helps and good luck with pointe!! =]How do i prevent bruised toe nails caused by ballet pointe shoes?
The first thing to do is cut your nails as short as is practical. Then use toe pads - there are a number of good brands, but go for the ones with silicone as they absorb impact the best. And the other point (pardon the pun) is to make sure your pointe shoes fit well. When you use toe pads your shoes may be too tight in the box, so you may need to move up a size.
You can put a little more padding in our shoes but not to a lot because to much can hurt too. For the bruised toe nails make sure your nails are extremely short. If you are prone to in grown toe nails cut them in a ';v'; shape making the point go towards the cuticle. hope that helps!

may GOd bless you and everyone you love!
ok are you keeping your toenails short because its bad for your toes to have them too long but dont cut them short either cause that hurt the part of your toe that the toenail protects and do you ware point pads cause that could be the problem to.
If you have great toe pads they work. Gel are the best for my feet. Also, there are toe pads that are made for your toes at www.discountdancesupplies.com and it really helps your feet. Hoped I helped you!

Gellows pads for pointe work well.

Also try putting padding on your bruised toe before putting on other padding.
Nail varnish helps if they're not very thick.
