For both check out the paint section at Home Depot. They have a huge array of colors cards. You can even buy samples of your favorite colors. Consider a latex semi gloss paint. Or consider a faux finish like the marble look or Venetian Plaster. Sorry. I couldn't resist.
It all depends on what you want your nails to match.
