How do you drive nails into concrete block?

I want to hang a picture in my basement, which is concrete block. Just using a hammer to pound in a nail doesn't work, of course, and I want to do this right the first time. Any suggestions? How do you drive nails into concrete block?
they make special concrete nails. Go go lowes or home depot. How do you drive nails into concrete block?
Concrete Nails and Pound away.Or use a Drill set to Hammer action that is the easiest and a Masonry Drill Bit.Drill Hole about Two Inches and put a plastic Plug in it and then put a Screw in it and leave a bit sticking out for the String.
Just get some concrete nails and pound away
There are special nails for use on concrete; Check at Lowes or Home Depot and talk to someone there.
well you will need a hammer drill with a1/8 in masonry bit ......drill a 1/8 in hole as deep as the nail and pound a grip-con in there.(concrete nail) i don't recommend just hammering a nail into the wall....good chance that it will just crack a hunk out of the block....and a better chance of hurting yourself
You need to buy CONCRETE nails. They are much stronger and usually kinda stubby. If you can try to put them right in between the joint and the block itself this is usually an easy entrance point. Also if you put it in the block try to start it in one swift hit straight on otherwise you will chip the block and it will not hold. You can also pre drill a small hole with a masonry bit first then pound the nail in if you have a drill. You can also use a power actuated hammer, his takes a 22calb cartridge that ';shoots'; the nail in.
You don't! Use screws that are made for concrete. Try Home Depot or Lowes, they usually have them. You'll probably need a drill too, I doubt you'll be able to do it by hand.
