How to get nail polish to stay on nails for more then a day?

I put nail polish on my nails yesterday and it is coming off. how can i stop this from happening? How to get nail polish to stay on nails for more then a day?
You need to prep the nail for the polish.

1. Clean the nail by using a polish remover.

2. File and shape ends leaving no rough edges.

3. Lightly buff nail ends and top of nails to smooth out any rough edges.

4. Use polish remover again to remove dust from filing and buffing,

5. Use rubbing alcohol or a nail prepping primer on nails. Apply to nails until the nail looks cloudy and dry. I apply it 2 times to each nail.

6. Apply polish.

7. Use a good top coat. I like Seche Vite. It is a quick dry top coat. You can only get this top coat from a salon or beauty supply store.

I do this to all my natural nail customers and on most of them the polish lasts for about a week. But if you are active apply a light coat of top coat daily!!!How to get nail polish to stay on nails for more then a day?
but a top coat on it ... so it has

base coat, colour, second layer of colour, and top coat

this usually makes it last longer
Don't wash it off.... JK, maybe get a different brand, or put on a top clear coat. That will help it stay on stronger.
There isnt alot you can do to keep it on very long. Buy the nail polish guaranteed to stay on longer. It wont stay on as long as they say it will, but it will stay on longer than regular brands. Put a thin layer of clear polish on over the top. I was at the nail salon yesterday and a girl next to me was just getting her nails painted. They buffed her nails before they painted them. Im not sure why, but maybe that helps the polish to stay on a bit longer. Other than that the only thing you can really do is carry your polish around with you for touch ups when you need them.
have you tried a top coat? That usually works for me.
