How to keep natural nails strong and long?

I've just started letting mine grow and they are at a nice length. I've been applying nail stregthener but not sure I need it now. How can I continue to keep mine long and strong?

Thanks. How to keep natural nails strong and long?
I would also suggest to gently file your nails about three times a week. This will certainly strengthen them, and though it is a slightly longer process in which you will need a lot of patience, it really does work. My nails used to break a lot and i started drinking a lot more milk and filing my nails often, and now they are very strong and no longer break easily.

Hope this helps xxHow to keep natural nails strong and long?
All the tips above are excellent ideas but you need to combine them, or as much as you can, into one treatment.

I would recommend that you file daily unti you get them to the length and shape you want - it doesn't have to be a big job, just a little rub over the edge of each is enough to take off any thin edges or breaks and keep them firm.

If you get any breaks NEVER chew, and file the roughness down as soon as you can - this means that from now on a nail file goes with you wherever you go :-)

When you apply the oil, it doesn't have to be castor oil, use it as a rubbing agent and give your nail beds a thorough working over. This stimulates the growth making it stronger.
Eat high-quality protein foods. Eggs are a good source as long as you don't have cholesterol problems. Eat grains, legumes, nuts and seeds. Make sure your diet is composed of 50 percent fresh fruits and vegetables.Add sulfur- and silicon-rich foods to diet. Onions, broccoli, fish and sea vegetables are all good sources.Eat foods rich in biotin, such as brewer's yeast, brown rice and soybeans.Sprinkle ground flaxseed on your cereal. It provides essential fatty acids. Eat foods high in B vitamins, Drink tea made from alfalfa, burdock root, dandelion, and yellow dock.

doing this will also help your hair.
