How can I stop my nails from doubling up on the surface?

There's sort of an extra layer on top of them sometimes. It's transparent but can be pulled off and wakes my nails thinner. How can I stop them from doing that? How can I stop my nails from doubling up on the surface?
you need nail strenthener on them , recommend hard as nails costs about 拢5.00 and well worth it leaves nice tranparent shine aswell so nails look nice , try using washing up gloves as it sounds as if your nails get wet alot if they are doing that . hope this helps ,, also use a buffer to take the ridges away once a week as well as the nail treatment named above .How can I stop my nails from doubling up on the surface?
mine do that it makes it imposible to grow them doesnt it. im sorry i dont know how to stop it but im curious to see if anyone else here does
Sounds like a fungus go to the doctor and they might be able to give you medicine
bye some nail envy from QPI and go to a beauty salon

strange person you
Your nail is made from the same stuff as your hair - KERATIN-

The nail is made up of many layers of keratin and as the nail grows they flatten and become the nail plate, these then get pushed forward towards the free edge, if the nail has been exposed to washing up liquid, bleaches etc the nail will expand and take on-board the water and detergents. You then go, dry your hands, but the nail takes longer to dry out and unfortunately not all the layers of Keratin will bond back together, therefore when the nail gets to the free edge it tends to 'peel' or 'flake' back.

So- keep your hands out of any unnecessary water and detergents, wear gloves at all times possible, use a natural oil to help balance the moisture level in your nails and then coat with either a nail toughener or just a clear polish.

Avoid tougheners that contain Formaldehyde above (I think) 1.5% other wise it will make your nails brittle
Does it happen only at the edges, if so clip and file them regularly.
see im not a pro so i would suggest you to go to a nail slon
