What are the best quality artificial nails, that are put on prefessionally?

I want to get some put on. How are they put on?

Are they put on with glue? What are the best quality artificial nails, that are put on prefessionally?
I heard that gel nails use better chemicals than some of the cheaper acrylic nails. One of the chemicals, MMA, can be dangerous. What about getting a manicure on your own natural nails? What are the best quality artificial nails, that are put on prefessionally?
Go with acrylic, gel is twice as expensive and the only difference is that they're shinier and the layer of gel has to be cured under a UV light.

Just make sure that you go to a reputable salon. A lot of cheap salons use MMA which is not approved for use by the FDA; often they will do a full acrylic set for $20, which is a red flag that they aren't going to follow proper procedures and will probably use MMA, which is way cheaper and used to put veneers on teeth. MMA is too strong to use on nails and will often cause trama to the natural nail plate.

Always ask to see licenses. Nail salons are required to be licensed and their staff must also be individually licensed, so if you can't see any hanging on the walls, ask to see them.

Go to www.hooked-on-nails.com, they will tell you everything you need to know.
