Whats the difference between acrylic nails and pink and white gel nails?

I get my nails done at a place where they don't speak the best English so I have never asked! I know the gel nails costy more...and I know they have to set under that light contraption, but I am really not sure what the difference is? Since they cost more are the better looking and last longer?Whats the difference between acrylic nails and pink and white gel nails?
Pink and whites use colored powder instead of clear. That way, you don't have to paint them. The nail technician buffs them to a shine. Sometimes, they just use a white nail tip instead of white powder. Each salon has their own technique.

The fills usually cost more, but they do last longer.

Gels are applied the same as acrylics, but there is an additional coat applied, and then it is ';set'; under a UV light. They are really shiny and more natural-looking.

You can get pink and whites in either acrylic or gel. I've had both.Whats the difference between acrylic nails and pink and white gel nails?
The only difference between acrylic and gel is the form in which it comes, acrylic is a powder and liquid mix and gel is premixed so it looks like a gel in the container.

Neither is better or worse for the natural nail plate. Try looking for a nail technician that uses a professional product like OPI, NSI, EzFlow, CND, etc or you could ring one of the above suppliers to find a technician that they could recommend to you.
jell nails last longer and they don't harm your nails as bad as acrylic nails. acrylic nails tend to make your own nails more brittle and crack easily.
gel is also better for your natural nail.
Gel lasts longer. Instead of going every 2 weeks, you could go every four.
